Even as states (and countries) begin the slow process of lifting restrictions, there is no doubt that COVID-19 has dramatically changed the way we interact and live. When and if a vaccine is developed, human nature being what it is, people may forget their lockdown experiences. What positive change have you taken away from this experience? Is there anything you will do differently because of the lockdown? We posed these questions to our clients, friends and best selling authors Rohit Bhargava and Larry Hite.
Bhargava also believes that our memories of this period will be based on how disruptive it was to our lives. If the lockdown period is viewed more of an inconvenience then it’s easier to forget and move on. But if a person experiences pain and trauma, it will be harder to forget.
Investment legend Larry Hite directed us back to the basics. When investing in companies, ask yourself: “Do you trust the people who run the company and is it a product that you understand and will buy? If you are lucky enough to have teenager[s]…you will learn quickly what the trends are.” Regardless of the lockdown, Hite says he will “stay with a company that makes money and have people buy their products.”
It’s been a challenging few months and we want to hear from you: What positive change have you taken away from this experience? Is there anything you will do differently because of the lockdown? There is no right or wrong answer; just your thoughts, observations and ideas during this unprecedented time in history.
